In 2011, I graduated with a B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I am starting my second year as a Ph.D student at Louisiana State University Museum of Natural Science in Fred Sheldon's lab. My interest in the evolutionary history of birds started while I was working as an Undergraduate researcher in John Klicka's lab. Since then, my personal and academic developement has led me towards the study of evolutionary history and ornithology of South East Asia, specifically the rainforests of Borneo. As an evolutionary biologist, I am being trained, from traditional museum curation and field work to new emerging molecular techniques and computational analysis.

The graduate students from the museum presented their expedition travelogues at the LSUMNS seminar. It's amazing to share their experience from all over the world; Brazil, Indonesia, Jamaica and etc.

21 August 2012

The LSUMNS crew was at the North American Ornithological Conference held in Vancouver.

24 July 2012

I have just recently returned from a field expedition in Malaysia, Borneo. Ultimately, it was a successful trip with the addition of several new taxa into our museum collection. Collaborating with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology on the last leg of our expedition, we successfully collected a Dusky Broadbill (Corydon sumatranus) specimen.
